Another suspect charged with Sh 1.6M fake interior ministry tender

A woman has been charged with the award of a Sh 1.6 million fake ministry of devolution tender.

Winnie Nyambura Ng’ang’a is accused of obtaining from John Kiarie a total of Sh 1,625,410 by falsely pretending that a certain ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government, National Police Service tender No.NPS/IG/019/2019/-2020 for the supply of 200 anti-lock jam pins which she issued to Kiarie was genuine and valid, awarded by the said ministry to Tecxilla Merchants and group, a fact she knew to be false.

The accused is alleged to have committed the offence between 22nd november 2019 and 19th March 2020 at the National PoliceService offices, Jogoo house ‘A’ with intent to defraud jointly with others not before court.

She denied the charge before Senior Principal Magistrate Kenneth Cheruiyot was granted a bond of Sh 500,000 with alternative cash bail of Sh 200,000.

Ng’ang’a is the second person to be charged with this offence weeks after another suspect, Mercy Waihiga Wanjiku alias Linda Mugubi Mashaka was charged.
