The Assets Recovery Agency has moved backto court to challenge the decision by the High Court to release a luxury car belonging to controversial businessman Jared Otieno.

The agency was seeking to preserve two luxury vehicles, KCU 966C Bentley Continental GT 2019 and Porsche Panamera 2015 on suspicion that they were proceeds of crime.

However, Justice John Onyiego ruled that the the Agency could preserve the Bentley but ordered release to the Porsche to the businessman.

A caveat shall be placed by NTSA in respect of motor vehicle KCU 966 C (Bentley) pending further investigations subject to expiry of the preservation period”, ordered Onyiego.

The businessman is charged alongside 14 others with obtaining Sh 300 million from the Director of Simuong group of companies in fake gold trade.

Justice Onyiego directed that the Bentley remains in police custody at the nearest police station possible or as the Assets Recovery Agency may determine.
