Bunge la Mwananchi want to be enjoined in petition against Sonko

Bunge la wananchi (People’s Parliament) has filed an application to be enjoined in the petition seeking to oust Sonko.

Through their president Henry Shitanda, the parliament says that Sonko has done so much for the people of Nairobi including road construction, Better maternity care, security among others.

At the same time, Former Chairman NCBDA wants the lawyer seeking to have Governor Mike Sonko removed from office to expunge allegations of his attack in his petition.

Through a letter, Timothy Muriuki wants lawyer Boniface Karimi Nyamu remove allegations that Sonko was involved in his attack in May this year at hotel Boulevard.

Muriuki says that Nyamu failed to contacts him before making relevance to the incident in his petition in the high court.

Nyamu has petitioned the court to declare Sonko unfit to hold to hold public office.

“All this kind of unfounded allegations are made with intentions to impede the existing harmonious, personal and official relationship between our client and the governor,” reads the letter.

“Our client demand that he expunge all the allegations contained in the petition.” Muriuki demands.

Muriuki’s lawyer Alex Wamalwa claims that his client was not approached to give the corrects details and chronology of the events regarding the incident.
He further claim that Muriuki firmly distanced himself with the content in one of the local dailies and in the petition in the high court.
“The said content are not true and as a master of fact the governor was not involved in the referred incident,” said Wamalwa.
