Businessman charged with conspiracy to defraud company land worth Sh 200m

A businessman has been charged with conspiracy to defraud Siesta Investment Limited land valued at Sh 200 million.

Francis Njeru Nyaga is charged that on unknown dates and unknown place in the country, Nyaga jointly with others not before court conspired to defraud the said company land measuring approximately 2.591 hectares situated along Mombasa road by procuring registration of the said land using IR. NO. 176998 LR 20273 in the name of Eliud Simon Mbilu , fact he knew was false.

Nyaga is also charged with forging a lease and title deed of the said land in the name of Eliud Simon Mbilu purporting it to be a genuine certificate of title issued and signed by Charles K. Ngetich, a registrar of Lands at the Ministry of Lands and physical planning at Ardhi House Nairobi.

He denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Kenneth Cheruiyot and was granted a bond of Sh1 million with alternative cash bail of Sh 200, 000.
