It is a relief for Samburu County Governor Moses Lenolkulal after a Nairobi court dismissed an application by the DPP to cancel his bail.

Senior Principal Magistrate Thomas Nzioka ruled that he was convinced that there was no interference of witnesses when he reshuffled his CECs.

However, the DPP through Senior Assistant DPP Alexander Muteti said they intend to appeal the said decision at the high court.

The DPP had argued that the decision by Lenolkulal to reshuffle his CECs was a breach of his bail terms.

The Governor is facing four counts of abuse of office and conflict of interest leading to the loss of Sh 85.6 million public funds.

He is accused of using his company, ORYX services station service station to supply petrol and diesel in Samburu County.

Lenolkulal is said to have failed and or neglected to disclose his interest in the said company.

The trial is set to begin on 11th February 2020.
