Impeachment motion against Governor Mike Sonko slated for tomorrow has been pushed to a later date until all parties show compliance.

Justice Byram Ongaya said the matter shall not proceed except to strict compliance of standing orders number 67 and 72.

Through lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui, the Governor filed an application in court challenging the motion for his impeachment.

The Nairobi county assembly has however objected to the application stating that the employment and Labour relations Court where the matter has been filed has no jurisdiction to hear it since there is no employer-employee relationship between Sonko and Nairobi city county assembly.

Sonko on the other hand says that the court has jurisdiction to handle the matter adding that they have not been given exhibits that form the basis of the impeachment.

Parties have also been directed to file and serve they’d responses ad further affidavit before mention date on 9th March 2020.
