House help, friend charged with stealing 31 million from employer

A househelp and her friend have been charged with stealing Sh 31 million from her employer in Nairobi.

Ruth Kageha Livole who was eployed by Atong Amos Agok Juac and her accomplice Violet Engesia Aluse are accused of stealing three golden rings and USD 280,000 all totaling to Sh 32,740,600 from his house.

The two are alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 15th and 21st April 2022 in Tipuwana Apartments, Karen, Nairobi, jointly with others not before court.

Livole was also charged with possessing stolen property.

During her arrest on 29th April 2022 at Kamukuywa in Bugoma County and Nandi County, she had in her possession USD 250,000 reasonably suspected to have been stolen.

Aluse also had in her possession USD 5,000 during her arrest on the night of 28th April in Riruta, Nairobi. 

They both denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi.

There were granted a cash bail of Sh 2 million each. The case will be mentioned on 23rd May 2022.
