Jubilee Classical Enterprises K. Limited Director has been charged with intent to defraud his business partner more than Sh 3.5 million for a tender awarded to their company by the United Nations (UN).

Felix Hezekiah kiprotich kirui had two separate charges of intent to defraud both of which were released on different bond terms.

The first file contained only one charge of intent to defraud more than Sh200, 000 while the other file contained one count of intent to defraud Sh 3.2 million and two counts on issuing bad cheques to his partner.

The accused is alleged to have obtained Sh 3.2 million From Fatuma Ali Abdulrehman by falsely pretending that he could enjoin her in the supply of a tender that they had been awarded by the UN, a fact he knew to be false.

Kirui is allege to have committed the offense jointly with others not before court on diverse dates between March 24th 2016 and March 31st 2016 at Diamond Trust bank in Nairobi.

The accused was also charged that on April 21st at Nairobi central business center within Nairobi County, he issued a cheque for Sh 900,000 and another for Sh 245,000 in favour of Ms Abdulrehman on Jubilee Classical Enterprises K. Limited account with knowledge that the account had insufficient funds.

The accused denied the all charges before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku.

Kirui through his lawyer told the court that the complainant is a co-director of the accused and the alleged offense was brought about by the issue of financing the tender they had been issued.

He applied that his client be released on bond as he is a family man and therefore not at flight risk.

He was released on a bond of Sh 200,000 or alternative cash bail of Sh 100,000 on the first file and a bond of Sh 1 million or alternative cash bail of Sh 500,000 on the second file.

The first case will be heard on July 21st and the second one will be heard on August 21st.

Jubilee Classical Enterprises K. Limited had been awarded a tender by the UN of supplying mobile phones, laptops and accessories.
