A land broker has been charged with illegally possessing a piece of land valued at Sh 25 million in Mavoko, Machakos county.
Joseph Njue Johana is accused of being found in actual possession of land parcel No. Mavoko Town block 12/701 measuring about 2.000 Ha.
The court heard that he was found in possession of the said land which belongs to Flora Tumbo without color of right, in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace to Tumbo who is entitled by law to be in possession of the said land.
Johana is accused of committing the offence on diverse dates between 5th August 2018 and 23rd June 2022.

The accused who was summoned by DCI officers on Friday 24th is also facing two other counts on the same.
His lawyer told the court that he was just an agent and he does not own the land in dispute.
The court further heard that Johana had been sued before Environment and Land court and the matter is pending before Machakos High Court.
He denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi and was released on a cash bail of Sh 300,000.
