An advocate has been charged in a Nairobi court with stealing millions from his client.

 

Simon Shivaji is accused of stealing Sh 6,500,000 from Nelly Nafula Matula.

The money had been received by Shivaji on account of funds revived on a sale of a property LR. NO. 209/11378/64 belonging to her.

 

The advocate is alleged to have committed the offence on diverse dates 1st March and 31st July 2015 at unknown place within Nairobi County.

He denied the charge before Senior Resident Magistrate Helen Onkwani.

The court heard that the advocate had been struck off his practicing license because of the offence.

 

He was released on a bond of 1.5 million or a cash bail of Sh 800, 000. The case will be mentioned on 6th and will be heard on 27th February 2019.
