Safaricom employee found with devices used to interfere with their systems charged

One of the Safaricom employee’s at the Gigiri shop has been charged with being in possession of illegal devices which were used to interfere with their systems.

Daniel Kionyo Njoki is accused of being in possession of a bash bunny, one large area network turtle and a modem which were used to interfere with Safaricom Public Limited Company computer system.

He is alleged to have committed the offence on 9th June 2019 at the Safaricom shop at the Village market in Gigiri, Nairobi in contravention of the computer misuse and cyber crime Act.

He denied the charge before Senior Principal Magistrate Kenneth Cheruiyot and was granted a bond of Sh 1 million or an alternative cash bail of Sh 500,000.

The matter will be mentioned on 29th July and will be heard on 12th August 2019.
