Sh 56M stolen gold consignment case pushed to August

The hearing of a Sh 56 million theft case against businessman Gideon Zeddy Otieno and a Congolese national has been adjourned.

Otieno and his co-accused Ishikunga Andre Kongolo alias Joseph will now appear in court for hearing on 24th August 2022.

These were the directions issued by Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo.

Otieno and Kongolo are accused of stealing a consignment of 200 kilograms of gold. The gold was valued at Sh 56 million the property of Ibragim Kostoeb Kostoev.

The two are alleged to have committed the offence on 21st December 2018 at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) Swiss Port office No. 223 in Nairobi, jointly with others not before court.

The denied the charges and are out on cash bail.
