A Nairobi court has allowed police to detain a man accused of obtaining money from members of the public claiming to be an employee of interior CS Fred Matiang’i for two weeks.
Evans Koroso Ratemo who allegedly presented himself as a messenger in the CS’s office was detained after the prosecution informed the court that he had absconded court in two other cases.
The accused was charged with obtaining Sh 600,000 by falsely pretending that he could secure employment for three people at the at the Kenya Prison Department.
He denied the charges before Senior Resident Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe.
