Two charged for going to Somalia contrary to Kenya Gazette Notice

Two men have been charged with travelling to a terrorist training designated country.
Salama Salim Mohamed and Suleiman Hemed Mwandilo were charged being found travelling to Somalia, a terrorist training designated country as per the Kenya Gazette notice NO. 200 of of 9th October 2017.
The two are alleged to have committed the offence on or before 7th March 2018 at Takaba in Mandera county.
Mohamed and Mwandilo were charged under section 30(c)(1) of the prevention of terrorism Act 2012.
However, the section does not currently state what punishment is imposed when one is found guilty.
They denied the charges before Senior Resident Magistrate Helen Onkwani.
Through lawyer David Ayuo, the two requested to be released on bond saying they are not at flight risk.
They were granted a bond of Sh 400,000 or a cash bail of Sh 200,000
The case will be heard on 24th April 2018.
