Waziri Chacha,man claiming to have slept with 13 MPs says he is mentally ill. court orders he be taken to Mathari Hospital

Waziri Benson Masubo, the man alleged to have had sexual relations with 13 Members of Parliament has told court that he is mentally unstable.

Through his lawyer, Masubo alias Waziri Chacha told Resident Magistrate Christine Njagi he has a brain tumor and was on his way to the hospital when the police arrested him. he requested he be taken to Mathari hospital for tests.

The Magistrate directed that  he be taken to Mathari hospital and report be presented before court.

Waziri was brought to court under a miscellaneous application where the police sought to detain him for further seven days to complete investigations.

He is being investigated on charges of conspiracy to defraud, obtaining money by false pretenses, intent to defraud and impersonating a person employed in the public service.

The police want him detained because they believe he is at flight risk as he has no fixed place of abode.

The court further heard the suspect was arrested under a warrant of arrest while fleeing to Congo through Tanzania thus at flight risk.

However, his lawyer objected the request saying it was unfair to his client was not at flight risk.

Waziri was arrested on 30th March in Tarime, Tanzania while trying to escape to the DRC and was escorted back to Nairobi and booked at Muthaiga Police station on 2nd April.

The police also claimed they needed time to recover other exhibits that are crucial to the case and record all prosecution witness statements needed.

Waziri is alleged to have slept with 13 MPs, took nude photos and videos and extorted them for a while but gave the photos to the media for publication when they failed to give him money.

The suspect is said to be behind several con cases among them impersonating Murang’a Women Representative Sabina Chege and attempting to obtain Sh 100,000 from Former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo.
