A second employee of Abyssinia Iron and Steel Limited has been charged with stealing Sh 86 million from the company.
Ankit Kumar Patel is accused of stealing the Sh 89,159,377.77 on diverse dates between 1st May 2022 and 2nd September 2023 at Athi River, Machakos County, jointly with others not before court.
Patel is also charged with conspiring jointly with others not before court to commit the said offense.
He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina.
Patel was arraigned in court just 24 hours after another employee, Bethwel Kipkorir Chebet was charged with a similar offense.
Chebet is allegedly the data entry clerk at Abyssinia Iron and steel Ltd.
