Another suspect in Parklands robbery caught on CCTV charged

Another suspect in the Parklands robbery where a businessman was robbed close to a million shillings by a man dresses as a traffic police officer has been charged.

James Ngewa is accused of accused of robbing Patel Kashyakumar Khantibhai Sh 999,000 and immediately before or immediately after the time of such robbery used actual violence against him.

He denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Ben-Mark Ekhubi.

Ngewa who the driver of the car used in the incident was arraigned in court a day after the main suspect Ezekiel Muiya Mutuku alias Macho was charged.

Mutuku is facing robbery with violence and possession of public stores charges after being caught on camera robbing the businessman.

The accused persons are alleged to have committed the offense on 28th June, 2025 at First Parklands Avenue, Parklands area in Nairobi .

In addition, Mutuku is accused that on the 2nd July 2025 at Ronald Ngara street in Eldoret,  jointly with others not before court,  had in his possession public stores namely; a Cap Peak with a white canvas Cap cover and a National police service Crown badge the property of National Police Service reasonably suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained.

The prosecution opposed Mutuku’s release on bail on grounds that he is a flight risk.

However, Ngewa’s release was not opposed and he granted bond of Sh 1 million without the option of a cash bail.

The case will be mentioned on 22nd July 2025 when Mutuku’s  bail ruling will be delivered.
