Another suspect in Sh 300M land fraud case charged

A man suspected to be involved in the Sh 300 million Nairobi West land has been charged.

Brian Kiptoo Kiplagat is charged alongside former Baringo Central MP Sammy Silas Komen Mwita who a Commissioner of Lands at the time the offense was committed.

Mwaita had pleaded to the charges on 4th August 2025 and released on bail.

The two are accused of conspiring to make a grant title without authority for Land Reference No. 209/9968 IR. No. 85847 with intent to defraud Rose Njoki King’au a parcel of land known as plot No. “A” Nairobi West, along Mai Mahiu Road, off Lang’ata Road measuring approximately 0.12 hectares each and valued at Sh 150 million.

Mwaita and Kiplagat are also accused of illegally conspiring to make a Grant Title Land Reference No.209/9968 IR. No.85847 with intent to defraud Micugu Wagatharia of a parcel of land known as; Plot No. “B” Nairobi West, Off Lang’ata Road measuring approximate area 0.12 hectares, valued at Sh 150 million.

The above offenses were allegedly committed on 30th March 2001 in Nairobi.

Lastly, the accused person is charged with giving false information to the police.

He denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Ben-Mark Ekhubi and was released on a cash bail of Sh 1 million.
