A businessman based in Athi River, Machakos county, has been charged with being in possession of counterfeit cement in the course of trade.
Jacob Lyadi Wambulwa is accused of issuing the counterfeit cement to Almasi Karimi, knowing them to be counterfeit goods.
Wambulwa is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates in September 2024.
In addition, the businessman is facing charges of manufacturing, producing or making counterfeit goods in the course of trade.
According to the charge sheet, Wambulwa is alleged to have uttered the counterfeit cement namely, Blue Triangle and Simba Cement.
He denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego and was released on bail.
