Car dealer charged in Nairobi after failing to import a TX and TZG for a client

A car dealer agent has been charged with conspiring to defraud a businesswoman Sh 11 million after failing to import for her a Toyota Prado TX and TZG.

Samuel Maina Muchiri is accused of conspiring with others not before court to defraud Irene Wanjiku Mark Sh 11,545,000 by falsely pretending that he was in a position to import for her the two vehicles, a fact he knew to be false.

Muchiri is also charged with Sh 5.8 million from Irene by false pretenses.

The court heard the accused obtained Sh 5,840,000 from Irene by falsely pretending that he was in a position to import the TX and TZG.

The accused is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between the 27th March and 13th October 2023 at NCBA bank, Nanyuki branch.

He denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe and was released on a bond of Sh 900,000.

Muchiri is facing two other charges of obtaining Sh 800,000 and Sh 136,000 respectively.
