A car dealer who is facing several fraud charges has been charged again after a new complaint was made.
Newton Kimathi Kirimi is accused of obtaining Sh 2.6 million from Lee Won Jae by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell to him a Toyota RAV4, a fact he knew to be false.
Kirimi is alleged to have committed the offence on diverse dates between 22nd January and 10th February 2022 in Nairobi, with intent to defraud.
He denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi.
The prosecution did not object the accused being granted bail. However, the court heard that the accused should be remanded at Kilimani police station.
This is because Kirimi has a warrant issued by Makadara Law Courts in another similar case.
SPM Ochoi granted Kirimi a bond Sh 500,000 with alternative cash bail of a similar amount.
The further directed that he be detained at Kilimani police station pending clearance in the Makadara case.
