
An Egyptian national has been charged with cheating by tricking a woman to pay him Sh 2.3 million for purchase of a water filtration machine.
Yasser Abdelwahab Mohammed is accused of using fraudulent tricks to induce Nasra Ibrahim Roble by falsely pretending that he was in a position to import and install the said machine at her firm.
Mohammed is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 1st March and 30th November 2024, in Nairobi County within the Republic of Kenya.
He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina and was released on a cash bail of Sh 200,000.
The magistrate also ordered him to deposit his passport in court.
The case will mentioned on 15th October 2024.
