Former Bomachoge Constituency Member of Parliament Credius Nyamwange Oigara has been charged with Sh 6 million fraud and impersonating an advocate.
Oigara is accused of obtaining Sh 1.6 million from James Njukia Ihura trading as Manyota Investment Limited by falsely pretending that he was in a position to effect an eviction order issued by Mavoko Law Courts vide ELC case No. E057 of 2022.
The accused is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 3rd and 15th April 2023 in Nairobi, jointly with others not before court, with intent to defraud.
The former lawmaker is also accused of impersonating an advocate with intent to defraud Ihura.
It is alleged that Oigara falsely presented himself as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with intent to defraud Ihura the said money.
Lastly, Oigara and one Kenneth Korir are accused of conspiring to defraud Ihura the Sh 1.6 million by pretending they could effect the said eviction order.
Oigara denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi and was released on a cash bail of Sh 300,000.
