Four people have been charged afresh with conspiring to defraud a company goods worth over Sh 19.8 million in the name of school feeding.
Elius Kemboi Korir, Andrew Masaku, Amos Njuguna Wamaitha and Halima Samson Mwongera alias Halima Saado, are accused of conspiring to obtain foodstuffs from Josephine Karambu Kaberia trading as Talos Group Kenya Limited.
The goods include 2550 sacks of 25Kgs of Biriyani Pakistan rice, 1550 jerricans of 10 litres each of cooking oil, 500 pieces of Menengai washing bar soap, 550 sacks of brown sugar and 400 bales of 24Kgs of wheat flour as per local purchase order all valued at Sh 19,820,000.
It is alleged that the accused persons committed the offense on diverse dates between 31st August and 17th September 2024 in Nairobi, with intent to defraud.
In the second count, the accused persons were charged with obtaining goods worth over Sh 13 million from Talos Group.
The court heard that the accused persons, trading as Women and Youth Against Aids and Poverty (WAYAAP) obtained some of the above mentioned goods worth Sh 13,801,000 from the company by falsely pretending that the goods were for school feeding, a fact they knew to be false.
Masaku, Wamaitha and Mwongera denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego. Korir did not appear in court for plea taking.

All the accused persons are out on cash bail pending the hearing and determination of the case
