The director of HKR Enterprise Limited has been charged with stealing more than Sh 106 million from the company.
Ramesh Jadva Varsani is accused of stealing the Sh 106,689,960 which got into his possession by virtue of him being the director.
Varsani is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 1st January and 31st December 2022 at HKR offices in Karen, Nairobi, jointly with others not before court
He denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Rose Ndobi.
The prosecution requested the court to issue stringent bond terms to the accused considering the amount in question.
The court granted him a bond of Sh 10 million and one surety of a similar amount.
Alternatively, the accused can deposit a cash bail of Sh 5 million and provide one contact person to secure his freedom pending the hearing and determination of the case.
The case will be mentioned on 6th September 2024 for pre-trial.
