EACC has denied knowing the whereabouts of Malindi law courts Senior Resident Magistrate who disappeared on 23rd May 2018.
The  Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association (KMJA) Secretary General Derrick Kuto said Honourable Corilus Osero Nyawiri was whisked away by people believed to be EACC officers on 23rd May 2018.
“The EACC officers allegedly indicated that the SRM would be arraigned before Nairobi Milimani Law courts on 24th May over corruption deals,” said Kuto.
The secretary general said that Honourable Nyawiri’s mobile phone went off after the alleged arrest and he has remained unreachable causing anxiety to the family and the Association.
After failing to present the magistrate before a court of law on 24th,  the Association drafted an enquiry letter of whereabouts of the Magistrate to EACC which is yet to get a reply .
“On suspecting that the letter might take long to get a reply, KMJA officials decided to approach the EACC offices in person to make a one on one enquiry but the graft body denied having arrested our colleague,” added the SG.
Kuto added that the EACC said that they were only aware of the pending investigations against the said magistrate.
“They also advised us to report the matter to the police.” Kuto said.
