Madison Insurance employee charged with Sh 5M insurance fraud

A Care manager at Madison Insurance Limited has been charged with Sh 5.5 million insurance fraud.

Antony Njuguna Kimani is accused of conspiring with another before court to defraud Madison Insurance Kenya Limited Sh 5,522,021  by wilfully and unlawfully committing himself in the preparation, presentation and fraudulent registration of one Joseph Nganga Kariuki(deceased) to Nakuru County Assembly Medical Scheme as a beneficiary member by using falsified Employment Number CAS/CAS/632836/00, purporting him to be a staff at the said County, a fact he knew to be false.

Kimani, 38, is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 1st January 2017 and 30th May 2017 at Madison Insurance Kenya Limited head office at Upper hill in Nairobi.

The accused denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego.

He was granted a bond of Sh 2 million with alternative cash bail of Sh 1 million. Kimani will also be required to provide two contact persons as additional security.

The case will be mentioned on 14th July 2025.
