A man has been charged with conspiracy to defraud a businessman land worth Sh 350 million.
Sammy Louis Karanja is accused of conspiring with others to defraud Hasmita Patel T/A Holloway Properties Limited, the parcel of land LR No.20261 IR No.90758 measuring approximately 1.591 Hectares by forging a grant LR No. 20261 IR No. 80202 purporting it to be a genuine grant.
Karanja is alleged to have committed the offence on an unknown date and place within Kenya.
The accused person is also charged with forging signatures of two commissioners of lands, Sammy Silas Komen Mwaita and Jane Kanja on the said grant.
In addition, Karanja is charged with obtaining Sh 2 million from Onda Concrete Limited by falsely pretending that he was in a position to lease for them the said land.
He denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Robinson Ondieki and was granted a bail of Sh 10 million.
