A man has been charged with defrauding a businesswoman Sh 1 million for a fake tender.
Sammy John Nzumbi is accused of obtaining Sh 1,024,800 from Linet Nthunya Kaloo by falsely pretending that he was in a position to incorporate her in a tender of printing t-shirts, a fact he knew to be false.
Nzumbi is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 16th June and 3rd August, 2023 at Milimani in Nairobi, with intent to defraud.
He denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Ben-Mark Ekhubi and was granted a cash bail of Sh 200,000 plus three contact persons.
The case will be mentioned on 24th February 2024 for pre-trial.
