A man has been charged with Sh 6.8 million fraud after allegedly failing to purchase an apartment for a client.
David Kunyua Ndegwa, 49, is accused of obtaining Sh 6,880,000 from Richard Emoru Oboo by falsely pretending that he was in a position to assist him to buy a three-bedroomed apartment along Ngong Road, a fact he knew to be false.
Ndegwa is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 31st October 2016 and 11th June 2018 at unknown place within Nairobi, with intent to defraud.
He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi and was released on a cash bail of Sh 100,000.
The case will be mentioned on 6th March 2025 for pre trial.
