Man charged with stealing a Toyota Prado in Nairobi

A man has been charged with stealing a Toyota Prado worth Sh 4.5 million in Nairobi.

George Ndeti Kivuvi is accused of stealing a motor vehicle registration number KCN 787M Toyota Prado TX white in colour, the property of Miriam Mamakonde Duombouya.

Kivuvi is alleged to have committed the offense on 23rd February 2023 in Nairobi, jointly with others not before court.

The accused is also charged with conspiring with others not before court to commit the offense of stealing the said vehicle on diverse dates between 8th July 2022 and 23rd February 2023.

In addition, Kivuvi is accused of forging a motor vehicle sale agreement purporting it to be written by Doumbouya with intent to defraud or deceive.

The court further heard that on the 23 day of February 2023 at National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) in Nairobi, knowingly and fraudulently uttered a certain forged document namely motor vehicle sale agreement dated 15th February 2017 to David Mokinyo Moyaki, purporting it to be a genuine document issued by the complainant.

Further, the accused is charged with unlawfully procuring a Tape Lift report dated 25th January 2023, purporting it to be a genuine Tape Lift Report by Scenes of Crime Nairobi Area.

The accused is also charged with unlawfully procuring the registration of the said vehicle to his name by pretending that he had bought it from Doumbouya.

He is alleged to have committed this offense on 1st March 2023 at NTSA offices in Nairobi.

He denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi and was released on a Sh 1 million bond.
