A man has been charged with stealing a Toyota Axio and an Audi A4.
Samuel Kahuthu Karanja is accused of stealing Toyota Axio registration No. KDC 697V and the Audi registration No. KDJ 276T from Ahmed Noor Abdi Mohamed.
The two vehicles are allegedly valued at Sh 4 million.
Karanja who was brought to court under a warrant of arrest is alleged to have committed the offense on 30th September 2023 in Nairobi.
He denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe.
The court declined to issue cash bail to the accused since he had absconded court since January 2024.
Karanja told the court that he he was bereaved and this made him unable to attend court.
The magistrate directed that a social inquiry report be done before before making a decision on bail/bond.
The case will be mentioned on 18th October 2024 for purposes of confirming whether the pre-bail report will be ready.
