A man has been charged with stealing Sh 54.7 million from Guaranty Trust Bank.
Daniel Mwangi Mucheru is accused of stealing the money at the bank’s Skypark branch in Westlands, Nairobi.
Mucheru is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 2nd April and 29th May 2020 jointly with others not before court.
In addition, the accused who is also facing another similar case is accused of conspiring with others not before court to defraud GTB the said money.
He denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi.
Since Mucheru is alleged to absconded in the his other case, he will remain in custody until 15th May when the court will rule on his application to be released on bail.
