A man has been charged with stealing over Sh 9 million from Eco bank Limited.
Jeremiah Anakoli Amoyo is accused is accused of stealing the Sh 9,113,748 between 1st and 5th February 2024 at Eco Bank Limited, Westlands branch in Nairobi.
The accused is also facing an alternative count of intentionally withholding electronic payment delivered erroneously.
Amoyo is accused of withholding the said money which was delivered in error into his Eco Bank account.
The money was delivered into an account by the name Veka Plaza Limited at the same bank.
He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi. He was granted a bond of Sh one million plus one surety of a similar amount.
Alternatively,he can deposit a cash bail of Sh 500,000 and provide one contact person to secure his freedom pending the hearing and determination of the case.
