A man who allegedly impersonated former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Facebook to defraud unsuspecting members of the public is seeking a plea bargain.
Newton Paul Kengere was charged with intentionally creating a Facebook account using the Name Hon. Mike Mbuvi Sonko Rescue Loans without authority from Sonko.
Kengere is alleged to have committed the offense on 15th September 2023 at unknown place within the Republic of Kenya.
He denied the charges and later made an application for a plea bargain.
However, the prosecution told the court that the office of the director of public prosecution will give the feedback on the same on 13th May 2024.
