
Three Mbagathi Hospital mortuary attendants have been charged with giving police false information in regards to a missing body.
Elizabeth Aoga, Jackline Njagi and Jackline Owino are accused of informing Police Constable Jesse Ogalo that they had not released the body of one James Mbugua from Mbagathi Farewell Home and presented to him another body, information they knew or believed to be false.
The trio is alleged to have committed the offense on the 13th December 2024 at Mbagathi County Hospital within Nairobi County.
The attendants are also charged with conspiring to obtain money from one Ann Mbugua which was meant for clearing the hospital bill of James Mbugua alias Joseph.
Lastly, the three are charged with demanding Sh 30,000 with menace from Ann Mbugua with intent to obtain.
These offenses were allegedly committed on 5th December 2024 at Mbagathi County Hospital.
They denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Ben-Mark Ekhubi and were released on a cash bail of Sh 100,000.
The case will be mentioned on 26th February 2025 for pre-trial.
