Aspiring Senator for Nairobi County Danstan Omari has moved to court on behalf of the missing Wajir County Assistant County Commissioner’s family seeking orders directing the Inspector General of Police to produce him before court.

Hussein Abdirahman Mohamed who is also the Wajir Huduma Center Manager disappeared on 8th July 2025 without a trace or notification to his family and close confidants.

“This Honourable Court be pleased to direct the 2nd respondent (IG) either personally or jointly with the other respondents (DPP and Attorney General), to immediately and unconditionally present the person of the applicant herein before this Honourable Court on or before the 14th of July 2025, to be subjected to the rule of law,” Omari said.

According to lawyer Danstan Omari, Mohamed’s sudden disappearance raises eyebrows and questions only the Attorney General and the Inspector General of Police are poised to answer.

According to court documents, the Applicant was last seen flanking the Cabinet Secretary ministry of Public Service during his visit to the County of Wajir, shortly before he went missing on the 8th of July 2025.

It is alleged that Mohamed was last seen during the event of the visit of the Cabinet Secretary in charge of the ministry of Public Service to Wajir, where he sat among the dignitaries that were welcoming the Cabinet Secretary to Wajir County up and whisked to unknown and/or undisclosed locations.

“A report was made to the police on the 10th of July 2025, in a bid to unravel the whereabouts of the said applicant, however, the same are yet to bear fruit as the whereabouts of the applicant are still not known,” Omari added.

Omari wants the court to order the respondents to produce the applicant or his body, or his immediate presentation before court if at all he has committed any offence cognizable in laws governing the citizens of the Republic of Kenya.

“Unless this Honourable Court certifies this matter as extremely urgent and orders the production of the applicant before this court, his rights including the freedom of movement and to associate freely with others will continue to be illegally, unjustifiable and arbitrarily violated,” he added.
