A man from Murang’a county has been charged with defrauding a doctor over Sh 3.3 million for a land purchase.
Simon Muchiri Mwangi is accused of obtaining Sh 3,350,000 from Dr Peter Rigi Gaitho by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell a piece of Land Nairobi/Block 196/930 LR 7785/960 and transfer the said land to him.
Mwangi is alleged to have committed the offense on 16th January 2023 in Nairobi, jointly with others not before court and with intent to defraud.
The accused person is also charged with conspiring with others not before court to defraud the complainant the said money.
He denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Paul Mutai and was granted a bond of Sh 2 million with alternative cash bail of Sh 500,000.
The case will be mentioned on 2nd April for pre-trial.
