The court heard that the victims, who are police officers, have chemical burns to the face, hands and ribs.

“We pray the court takes note of the fact that these officers were on duty. It has made the National Police Service (NPS) to question their own safety,” the prosecution said.

“We pray for stringent bond terms especially for the first accused who is facing the assault counts.”

Through their lawyers, the nurses applied to be released on lenient bail terms.

The defense team told the court that the two are family men with meager income as nurses.

They asked the court to grant them lenient bail terms.

After considering the submissions by the parties, the court granted Marori a bond of Sh 600,000 with one surety of a similar amount.
