A Nyayo House employee has been charged with defrauding a businessman Sh 16 million after failing to pay for goods supplied to him.
Nelson Mukara Sechere is accused of obtaining goods to wit 12,040 Kgs of sugar, 15,020 Kgs of rice and 5,720 Kgs of cooking oil all valued at Sh 16,989,500 from Kipkoech Mutai by falsely pretending that he was in a position to pay for the goods upon delivery, a fact he knew to be false.
Sechere is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 1st July and 20th September, 2024 at Kenya Veterans for Peace Nyayo House 16th floor in Nairobi County.
The accused is also facing a charge of conspiracy to defraud Mutai the said goods.
He denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego.
The court granted him a bond of Sh 5 million with alternative cash bail of Sh 2.5 million.
