
A Nyayo House employee has been charged with Sh 4 million fraud after failing to pay for goods.
Nelson Mukara Sechere is accused of obtaining from Caroline Mwoni Amusala goods namely 600 sacks of 25kgs of rice and 500 jerricans of 20 liters each, of cooking oil all valued at Sh 4,026,700 by falsely pretending that there was a genuine agreement between her and Kenya Veterans for Peace for the supply and delivery of the said goods.
Sechere is alleged to have committed the offer on diverse dates between 6th and 11th December, 2023 in Nairobi County, jointly with others not before court and with intent to defraud,
The accused is also charged with conspiring with others not before court to defraud Amusala.
He denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego.
Sechere was granted a bond of Sh 2 million with one surety of a similar amount or pay a cash bail of Sh 1 million.
The magistrate directed the case to be mentioned on 29th October 2024 for consolidation with another similar matter that is already before court.
