The owners of the Embakasi gas facility that exploded in February this year have been charged with 10 counts of manslaughter.
Derrick Kimathi Nyamu and Stephen Kilonzo Mutie denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe.
The businessmen are alleged to have committed the offenses on the night of 1st and 2nd February 2024 at Mradi area in Embakasi, Nairobi, jointly with others not before court.
The duo is also charged with operating a bulk Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) storage facility without a valid license from the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).
Each of accused persons was released on a cash bail of Sh 1 million.
