Progressive Credit Limited employee charged with stealing Sh 21M from the lender

An employee of Progressive Credit Limited has been charged with stealing over Sh 21 million from the company.

Nicholas Muia Kyengo is facing three different cases involving charges of stealing by servant.

In the first case file, Kyengo is accused of stealing Sh 6,209,840 from employer Progressive Credit Limited on diverse dates between 12th February 2022 and 19th July 2024 in Nairobi, jointly with another not before court.

The accused is also charged with stealing Sh 10,478,460 from the company on diverse dates between 11th March 2022 and 17th March 2024 in Nairobi.

Further, Kyengo is charged with obtaining Sh 5,824,570 between 31st January 2023 and 12th February 2023.

He is also facing three counts of conspiring with others before court to commit the offense of stealing.

The accused denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina. He will remain in custody until 17th January 2024 when the court will make a ruling on his release on bail.
