46 year old Peter Kavoi Musili alias Alphonse Mutuku and 39 year old Sameer Abdulaziz Kassim denied robbing, beating and throwing Amos Charo Saro out of a moving vehicle on 17th October 2018 along Westlands Road in Nairobi County.

The vehicle they were using KBJ 614H Toyota NZE was allegedly intercepted at the Westlands junction and Mpaka road by a police officer who had seen them throw the victim out of the vehicle. The officer is alleged to have bordered a taxi nearby and gave the suspects a chase. He fired 8 rounds of ammunition after intercepting the two forcing them to surrender.

According to the police, the suspects lured the complainant who is a contractor within Voi town that they are in a position to sell to him building materials at a fair price within Nairobi and deliver them on 15th October 2018.

The complainant came to Nairobi on 17th October to meet the suspects and buy the Materials (steel bars). The suspects took him in their car around Nairobi showing him sites they are allegedly building.

The two are alleged to have told the contractor that he should have the money in cash as they were going to the site where the materials were and was to make payment and carry away the bars.

The complainant had carried Sh 723,000 and on the way, the suspects turned violent and robbed him of the money and threw him out of the moving vehicle where he sustained injuries.

However, the police allege to have recovered Sh 400,000 only after arresting the suspects.

Senior Resident Magistrate Helen Onkwani granted the suspects a  bond of Sh 3 million without the alternative of a cash bail and ordered that Sameer be taken to hospital for his swollen eye.
