Two men have been charged with obtaining Sh 1.3 million pretending to be working with AMREF.

Shazala Johnstone Ingasia and Wycliffe Namusenyi Memba are accused of obtaining Sh 1,137,750 from Milka Nyambura Njuguna by pretending they would pay back the money within 5-6 weeks after the date of delivery of bin liners to AMREF, a fact they knew to be false.
The two are alleged to have committed the offence between 30th March and 8th April 2022 in Nairobi, with intent to defraud.
Ingasia and Memba are also charged with conspiracy to defraud Njuguna.
They denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi. They were each granted a bond of Sh 500,000 with alternative cash bail of Sh 200,000 each.
