Two people have been charged with obtaining more than a million shillings in a fake sale of Wendano Matuu Company shares.

Erick Mutinda Mutisya, 43, and Pascaline Wanjiku Kitonga, 37, are accused of obtaining Sh 1,135,000 from Samuel Karanja Kogi by falsely pretending that you were in position to sell to him shares from the said company, a fact they knew to be false.

The two are alleged to have committed the offense between 8th May 2021 and 17th January 2022 at Upperhill, Nairobi, jointly with others not before court.

Mutisya is also facing six charges of making documents without authority after allegedly making membership share certificates and passing them to Kogi as to genuine certificates from Wendano Matuu Company.

The two denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi and were each granted a bond of Sh 500,000 plus one surety of a similar amount.

In terms of cash bail, Mutisya was granted Sh 100,000 since he has several counts while Kitonga was granted Sh 70,000 as she is facing one count in the charge sheet.

The case will be mentioned on 7th May for pre-trial and directions.
