Two people have been charged with defrauding a businessman Sh 2 million in a fake investment opportunity.
Henry Figondo and Faith Maguthia are accused of obtaining obtaining Sh 2 million from Paul Mungathia Igweta by falsely pretending that they were in a position to assist him invest in an export processing company, a fact you knew to be false.
The duo is also charged with conspiring to defraud Igweta the said money by false pretenses.
It is alleged that the two committed the offense on diverse dates between 1st October, 2020 and 30th December 2021 at Kileleshwa area in Nairobi County.
They denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Robinson Ondieki and were released on a cash bail of Sh 50,000 each.
