
A warrant of arrest has been issued against Juja Member of Parliament and two others after failing to appear in court to plead to charges in his self-abduction case.
Senior Principal Magistrate Ben-Mark Ekhubi issues the warrant against MP George Koimburi Ndungu and two men only identified as Peter and Njuguna alias Njungush.
Four other suspects appeared in court and denied charges of conspiracy to defeat justice, giving false information to the police and publication of false information.
They include Peter Kiratu Muhia, David Macharia Gatana, Cyrus Kieru Muhia and Grace Nduta Wairimu.
According to the charge sheet, the four jointly conspired to defeat justice by stage managing the abduction of the MP in order to prevent his arrest and arraignment at Kiambu law courts to answer to charges as directed by the office of Director of Public Prosecution vide their letter reference ODPP/HQ/CAM/13/475 dated 20th May 2025 where he was to be charged with four counts in relation to land fraud.
Muhia faces a solo charge of giving false information to the police.
It is alleged that on 25th May 2025 at Mugutha Police station in Juja, he reported to NO. 106297 PC Nelly Kabuu a police officer that the lawmaker had been abducted by unknown people wearing face masks after attending a church service at Full Gospel Church at Mugutha making the said officer to book the report vide occurrence book number 21st of 25th May 2025, which information he knew to be false.
The MP is also accused of giving false information on 7th June 2025 at Karen Hospital via a You tube account to the effect that he had been abducted and tortured by some criminals, information which he knew was false and was aimed at causing panic to the members of the public.
Those who appeared in court were released on a cash bail of Sh 300,000 plus three contact persons each.
The case will be mentioned on 5th August for pre-trial directions.
