Man charged with obtaining Sh 4 million in fake gold trade

A businessman has been charged before a Nairobi court with obtaining Sh 4 million in a fake gold sale deal.

Felix Jacob Jalango is accused of obtaining the Sh 4,030,000 from Amunga Andanje by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell to him gold, a fact he knew to be false.

Jalang is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 7th and 30th October 2020 at Nairobi Central Business jointly with others not before court, with intent to defraud.

The accused denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi and was granted a bond of Sh 300,000 with alternative cash bail of Sh Sh 100,000.
