Nakumatt transport manager pleads not guilty to murder charges

Nakumatt Supermarkets Transport manager accused of shooting dead his colleague has been charged with murder.

This comes a week after his mental assessment report from Mathare Hospital proved that he was fit to be charged and stand trial.

The manager, Abdul Kairo pleaded not guilty before Justice Jessie Lesit.

The case will be mentioned on July 27th for directions.

Kairo is alleged to have shot a casual laborer at the supermarkets’ Headquarter twice on the chest killing him.

The 23 year old laborer Stephen Wafula Musumbi is alleged to have started attacking people at the HQ with a ‘panga’ and when he was heading to attack Kairo, he shot him

One of the workers sustained a ‘panga’ cut while the rest fled to safety.

It is alleged that Kairo, who is a licensed firearm holder shot the deceased at point blank when the accused attacked him.
